Kalamatianos , Dance of the northern Continental Greece, variation of the land Round Dance with 7 bar melody. It’s often mentioned as a Pan-Hellenic dance, although it was unknown or obtrusive to the largest part of the Greek area. It became the symbol of the unfettered “Old Greece” and thus it was spread to the other regions before and after their embodiment to the Greek state.
