[Demetriou 1983, 146] Samos: In front, danced a boy, who was the “kavos”. The girls followed and at the end, again a boy, who they called “petala” or “sta petala”. A boy in the middle of the dance was not allowed to lead. Only the bridegroom had that right, in the celebration of the wedding. The first would lead the dance, and that would be the father of the bridegroom.
